South Queensferry George V Park Play Area

Play area improvements to increase the use of local parks

ELGT in partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council designs were produced to improve the play area at George V Park in South Queensferry following consultation with the local community. KGVP South Queensferry Playground Design

The project, which is being partially funded by a £39,661 grant from FCC Communities Foundation to provide an accessible roundabout, a triple bay swing and a frigate boat play unit.

It will aim to transform and change the local perception of the play park by improving the equipment and accessibility which will in return increase the use of the local facility and improve the health and wellbeing of the local community. The physical works carried out on the playpark included the removal of some of the existing play equipment and the playing surface. It will be replaced with a carpet safer surface and 7 new pieces of play equipment for both toddler and junior aged children.
