Pentland Community Centre Playpark
Pentland Community Centre Playpark
New improvements to Pentland Community Centre in Oxgangs.
ELGT has worked in partnership with Edinburgh Council to upgrade the play area and helped generate funding for the completion of the project. The Pentland Community Centre, FCC Communities Fund and Morrisons Foundation also generously gave funds towards the project.
ELGT wanted to help transform and change the local perception of the play park by improving the equipment and accessibility which would in return increase the use of the local facility and improve the health and wellbeing of the local community. The physical works carried out on the playpark included the removal of all the existing play equipment and the playing surface. It was replaced with a rubber safer surface. 10 new pieces of play equipment for both toddler and junior aged children. New benches and picnic benches were also installed to enable friends and family to meet up.
It is nice to see lots of mums with little children using the equipment. It was great to see everyone enjoying themselves so much. Thank you for all the hard work and effort that you have put in to achieving this excellent result. Peter Gray, Chair, Pentland Community Centre Management Committee
