Huntershall Park Improvements

Huntershall Park Improvements

Improved access and amenity of a park to enable people of all abilities to be more active.

Huntershall park is a community park on a large scale, with easy access from Niddrie and Greendykes for those who want to walk, play sport, jog or take part in the Jack Kane Centre’s many activities. It is a large, flat park with a small safe play area for young children located near the main entrance. A woodland path follows part of the border through a wilderness area of hawthorn, elder, bramble, holly, dog rose, oak, lime and elm trees. The strip of woodland provides a habitat for birds and small mammals. Nesting pigeons, magpies and garden birds are common here.

ELGT has created a new path which aims to make active travel more accessible and create an off road link for the local neighbourhoods to the cycle network
