Burnshot Bridge Greenspace Improvements
Burnshot Bridge Greenspace Improvements
Improved greenspace and biodiversity
We have been working in partnership with the City of Edinburgh Council to provide greenspace improvements around the new Burnshot Bridge in the west of Edinburgh.
The work involves creating a wildflower meadow, 1,350m2 in area beside the bridge. This will increase the biodiversity and appearance of the area. We will also be working with the local community to run tree planting sessions to help create a wooded area beside the road which will help reduce noise, water run off and reduce pollution as well as improving the appearance.
Tree planting
It was great to see 60 pupils from Kirkliston Primary School planting up trees near to the bridge. Thanks also to Cllr Norman Cook and team from Balfour Beatty for coming along to help plant up a total of 450 trees. This will help improve the biodiversity and appearance of the area beside the bridge.
