Leith Links Play Park

Project Background

Funding has been given to upgrade the play park at Leith Links from the Leith Neighbourhood Partnership fund. The park was built in the 1992.It's current play value has been decreasing over recent years and the aspiration is to raise this to an excellent standard.

The public consultation and design phase

The initial phase of the public consultation for the re-design of the play area at Leith Links was undertaken in February / March 2018. There were three open events that enabled the public to give their views on what they’d like to see in the new play area. As a result of the events, we were able to come up with three themed designs which will now be publicised widely with local schools, local groups and the local community to get their views on their preferred design.

The key aims of the consultation:

  • To generate excitement and positive support for the playpark
  • To create awareness of the plans
  • To actively engage as many people as possible in ideas and designs
  • To promote the final plans and designs
  • To form the basis for subsequent promotion and engagement for the new facilities

Consultation and engagement programme will include the following elements:

  • Formal engagement with local stakeholders - community council, schools, community organisations, residents groups - to identify key priorities and to seek commitment and engagement with the consultation
  • Surveys and questionnaires on and off line to inform proposals
  • Preparation of designs and plans for the park and their publication
  • A formal consultation exercise seeking comments on specific aspects of the proposals/designs
  • A final design concluded

Design Options.

There are 3 design options that we would like the public to choose from which have come about from the previous consulation round. If you could make your favourite choice by completing the survey by Monday 28th May.
