Newhaven Community Garden

Newhaven village has a strong sense of community where the local group wanted to galvanise their neighbours to become more active in making their local streets greener. They created a new community garden in a prominent place as a way for people to come together and take part, and to showcase Newhaven’s maritime heritage by redeveloping the site of the hidden-away Armada Stone will be able to bring local residents together and provide a way for those people in the many flats and other homes without gardens to get outside, be physically active and take part in a joint gardening project.

Our role was to run community workshops and engagement sessions, to get the project up and running, to train and then support the local community in how to look after their garden in the years to come.
