The project is to open up and temporarily bring into use the site of the future new school in the heart of Craigmillar Town Centre. The project will be delivered by Edinburgh & Lothians Greenspace Trust in partnership with EDI Group Parc Craigmillar and CEC who are providing the match funding.

Outline landscaping plans are being drawn up that will complement the recently-built kick about area (built by local high school pupils as part of a skills learning Construction Challenge project) until construction begins. Ideas include improved cycling and walking paths through the area, a new woodland area, a containerised orchard and a design for the interim town square on Niddrie Mains Road, next door to the library and Neighbourhood Office.

Central to the project will be the involvement of the local community, with opportunities to input into the final design and events being planned where people can be actively involved in planting and creating this new temporary greenspace,

The project will be completed by March 2016 and details of what is happening will be announced as plans progress.
