Our mission – to provide everyone in Edinburgh and the Lothians with access to quality greenspaces, which can help to improve their health & wellbeing

Covid-19 Update

With restrictions being eased, we are optimistically looking forward to the months ahead. We are delighted that our small exercise groups will be starting with safety measures in place.

We have certainly missed seeing our friends and the local communities we serve. You can keep up to date with our activities on the Out and About Facebook page.

In the meantime, we encourage everyone to visit their valuable local greenspaces. They offer you the chance to take part in daily exercise, to de-stress and engage with nature while also helping to improve your overall health and wellbeing. There will be lots of opportunities to participate through the Thrive Collective

There are lots of great play parks in Edinburgh and Lothians so why not visit some including the new play park at Pentland Community Centre

You can also be kept up to date through our social media pages on Twitter and Facebook.

I hope that this is of some reassurance to you and if there is anything else you think we could do, or if you would like to discuss things further, then please do not hesitate to get in touch through our contact page.

Stay safe everyone.

ELGT 30th Anniversary

ELGT has reached an exciting milestone and celebrated our 30th anniversary.

Over the last 30 years the trust’s mission has been to provide quality greenspaces to people in Edinburgh and the Lothians to improve mental health and wellbeing. ELGT run an inspiring, ground-breaking, and imaginative programme of environmental and community projects that enables us to work for the benefit of people, wildlife, landscape, and heritage.

Since 1991 we have been working to improve greenspaces for the benefit of people through practical environmental and educational projects in partnership with local communities and health-focused initiatives as a way to support more people getting outdoors. Our projects are designed to benefit people, wildlife, landscape and heritage and to help connect people with their natural environment.

By providing a comprehensive portfolio of environmental project development, management and fundraising services, we help ensure everyone has an equal opportunity to enjoy their natural environment.
